Randy Wagner, 68

Randy John Wagner, 68, Red Oak, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, on Dec. 10, 2024, after a battle with cancer.
Randy, the son of Charles P. and Eloise M. (Josephson) Wagner, was born on July 11, 1956, in Painesville, Ohio. His family relocated to Coburg when he was around 3 years old and eventually, they moved to Red Oak, where he went to high school.
While he was married, he had two children, Aubrey and Obadiah. Over the years, he worked at numerous places, including Smith Construction, Earl May, State of Iowa, Larson’s Plumbing and Heating, and most recently Roger’s Heating and Cooling for over 30 years. He was a very hard-working master tradesman.
In his spare time, he liked to golf, go fishing, do handywork and carpentry, read books, watch movies, and watch the St. Louis Cardinals on T.V. He always enjoyed cooking and grilling, and eating great meals, especially while spending time with family and friends. During his mother’s later years, he was devoted to taking amazing care of her and advocating for her every need.
Throughout recent years, he really loved spending time with his children, Aubrey and Obadiah, his two grandchildren, and his sister and family. Most recently, his favorite pastime was long chats with his children and sister on the phone and keeping updated on his grandchildren’s activities. He was always there to give advice or lend a hand to anyone who needed it, and loved to talk and laugh with family, friends and neighbors, about everything from lawn care to favorite recipes.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Eloise; and one brother, Charles (Chuck) E. Wagner.
Randy is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Aubrey Stuart and husband Grant of Walnut, and his son, Obadiah (Obe) Wagner of Ames; two grandchildren, Miraylie and Teague Stuart; sister, Nancy Cornelison and her husband Gary of Monrovia, Md.; sister-in-law, Jeannie Wagner of Glenwood; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
As per Randy’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
