Patricia Dinville, 86

Patricia “Pat” Ann Dinville, 86, Gardner, Kan., passed away Dec. 14, 2024, at her home.
Pat was born in Chapman, Neb., on July 27, 1938, to Olin Ervin and Ruth Meda Vera (Resh) Tull. She graduated as Valedictorian from Shelton High School in 1956 in Shelton, Neb., and was named FFA ‘Sweetheart for the Year’ along with her sister, Karen, by the Shelton FFA Chapter.  
She received her Medical Secretarial Training Diploma from the Commercial Extension School of Commerce in 1957.  On April 26, 1958, Pat married Gerald “Jerry” Louis Dinville in Red Oak. She was the Financial Manager of Prairie Medical Clinic in Bellevue, Neb., from 1960 to 1991.  Jerry and Pat lived in Glenwood for 21 years, where they raised their three children.  They moved to Council Bluffs, where they worked and ultimately retired, before moving to Olathe, Kan., in 2012 to be near family.  
Pat was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Council Bluffs.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles, dancing, gardening and loved animals.  Pat had a giver’s heart and enjoyed her time volunteering at the Mills County Storehouse in Glenwood, at the Council Bluffs Senior Center, and at Cedar Lake Village in Olathe, Kan.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Ruth; husband, Jerry; and sister, Karen Smith.  
She is survived by her children, Gregory James and Lori Dinville of Zimmerman, Minn.; Jylann Rae Dinville and Steve Fischer of Underwood; and Mariruth Ann and Jeff Gruis of Gardner, Kan.; and five grandchildren, Austin, Bradley, Cassia, Tony, and Ian. She is also survived by sisters Donna (and Dave) Harris of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Joanna (and Jerry) Rudge of Peoria, Ariz.
Graveside inurnment will occur at a future date in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at brucefuneralhome.com.
