Levina “Linda” Vargas Rasmussen, 83

Levina “Linda” Vargas Rasmussen, 83, Elliott, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
Linda was born March 19, 1942, in Puraran, Barasa, Contanduenes, Republic of the Philippines, the daughter of Crispin Tejada and Josefina Vargas Tejada. Linda started working at a very young age, after her father passed away. She worked on the military base where she met her future husband, Ronald Rasmussen. They were united in marriage on May 10, 1970, in Cavites City, Philippines. They later moved to San Diego, Calif, and eventually to Red Oak in 1977. Throughout the years, Linda worked at Holiday Inn, Red Oak Greenhouse, Union Carbide, and back to Red Oak Greenhouse where she retired. Linda loved taking care of her family and sharing her wonderful meals. She was an excellent cook. Linda also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and going to the casino.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ronald Rasmussen; and siblings, Carolina Posada; Lydia Lichvar; and Juan Tejada.
Survivors include her children, Rose Lamberth and husband Karl of Leesville, La.; and Roderick Rasmussen and wife Misty of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Kyle Lamberth and wife Staysha of Los Angeles, Calif.; Rachel Pago and husband Justin of Louisville, Ky.; Ashley Lamberth and Jared of Leesville, La.; and Talon Rasmussen of College Station, Texas; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Socorro Temones “Coring”; Domingo Tejada “Engo”; Edith Krager; and Aida Templonuevo; sisters-in-law, Diane Adams of Shenandoah; Denise Wilson and husband Mark of Elliott; Linda Rasmussen of Red Oak and Vivian Rasmussen of Red Oak; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services was held Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Pilot Grove Cemetery in rural Montgomery County. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
