Lane Morse, 91

Lane Frederick Morse, 91, Red Oak, formerly of Emerson, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.
Lane Morse was born on Oct. 27, 1933, in rural Hastings, the son of Raymond and Dora (Davis) Morse. He lived in the Hastings area for most of his younger life. Lane moved to the Emerson area in 1948. Lane was married to Carolene Walker on July 9, 1955. They were blessed with two children, Kevin Lane and Karla Jayne. Lane and Carol enjoyed many camping and fishing trips with their children.
After he retired in 1996, Lane and Carol spent several years touring the United States in their camper, meeting and enjoying new friends. In 2010, Lane and Carol moved to Lake Wakonda, Neb., and spend many hours fishing and boating. Then they moved to Plattsmouth, Neb., and later Red Oak to be closer to their daughter and son-in-law. Lane enjoyed woodworking, was a former deacon at the Emerson Baptist Church, Emerson Fire Chief and Past Master of the Masons, President of the Emerson Community Club and a proud member of the Emerson Cemetery Association. Lane’s passion was his family, and he was well liked and a friend to all.
Lane was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Lane Morse in June 2002, and three sisters, Roberta Mitchell, Betty Riley and Alice Lewis.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Morse of Red Oak; daughter, Karla Pearson and husband Calvin of Red Oak; daughter-in-law, Mary Bolton and husband John of Plattsmouth, Neb.; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service was held Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, with visitation with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Emerson Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak.
