Kymberlee Thoren, 52
Kymberlee Lynn Thoren, 52, Red Oak, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, at Arlington Place.
Kym was born April 5, 1971, in Red Oak, the daughter of Bill and Linda (McNally) Morris. She was raised in Red Oak, graduating from Red Oak Community High School in 1989 and then Buena Vista College with a business and accounting degree. Kym was united in marriage to Kenneth Meyers and one daughter was born to this union, Kelsey. Kym later was united in marriage to Gary Thoren on June 15, 2007, and one son was born to this union, Rebel.
Over the years, Kym operated the Activity Center with her mother, worked at CDS, and most recently was a medical receptionist for Red Oak Physicians Clinic, retiring in 2020 due to health reasons. She was a member of Faith Community Church and the Hawkeye Chapter of Studebaker Drivers Club, winning a trophy with her Studebaker at the Southwest Cruiser car show. She was a former Girl Scout leader, was a black belt in taekwondo, a stroke judge for the Red Oak Swim Team, and enjoyed reading and traveling. Gary and Kym even traveled to attend a Barrett Jackson Car auction.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Thoren of Red Oak; children, Kelsey Fournier and husband Staff Sgt. Travis Fournier of England; Rebel Thoren of Red Oak; Mykel Thoren of Dubuque; and Bryton Thoren of Chicago, Ill.; grandson, Liam Fournier of England; parents, Bill and Linda Morris of Red Oak; sister, Angie McCoppin of Omaha, Neb.; sister-in-law, Karen Moore of Red Oak; many nieces and nephews, including Ashlee Jones and husband Chris of Bellevue, Neb.; Tanner Erickson and wife Diamond of Essex, Noah Erickson of Clarinda; and Emilee Erickson of Lincoln, Neb.; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service was held Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
