James "Cheech" Mitchell, 64

James Buryle “Cheech” Mitchell, Sr., 64, of Red Oak, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at his home.  
Cheech was born March 13, 1959, in Des Moines, the son of Dean and Ethel (Spoon) Mitchell.  
Preceding him in death were his parents, Dean Mitchell and Ethel Bolio; and stepdad, Jack Bolio.
Survivors include his wife, Jessica Mitchell of Red Oak; children, David Giles of Colorado; Dallas Floyd of Osceola; Jimmy Mitchell of Creston; Trisha Mitchell of Creston; and Randy, Ty, and Shadow Mitchell, all of Red Oak; and two grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at the Red Oak Eagles Lodge with a time of food and fellowship to follow.  
Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
