Evelyn (Evie) Sowers, 97, formerly of Emerson, passed away Jan. 23, 2023, at the Avalon Care Home in Fairfield, Calif.
Evie was born Jan, 18, 1926, in Fremont County, the youngest child of David and Althea Norton.
Evie is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Schreiner and Barbara Rebhan; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Merrill Sowers.
A celebration of life service was held at Oaks Community Church on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Oaks Community Church, 41310 Ellington Ave., Henderson, IA 51541.
Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
