Donna Patrick, 79
Donna L. Patrick, 79, Red Oak, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at the Everystep Kavanaugh Hospice House in Des Moines.
Donna Lea Patrick, the daughter of Lawrence J. and Grace E. (Cochrane) Westlake, was born March 28, 1943, in Red Oak.
Donna was raised in Corning, where she attended and graduated school. Following high school, Donna moved to Red Oak to work at the Union Carbide/Eveready Battery Company. She devoted 30-plus years to the battery company.
On April 2, 1965, Donna was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Patrick in Red Oak. To this union was born their son, Dale Patrick. Donna did not know a stranger and enjoyed talking to everyone. She loved traveling, bowling, working in her yard, mowing and raking leaves, and was devoted to walking at least five miles daily. Donna especially adored her family and treasured spending time with them.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony on Feb. 6, 2005; daughter, Marsha Jean Patrick in infancy; brothers, Norval “Ike”, Jack, Jerry, Lowell, and Max Westlake; and sisters, June Thompson, Cheryl Simmons, Phyllis Sink and Ronna Eads.
Donna is survived by her son, Dale R. (Teri) Patrick of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Colin Patrick and Kyle Erickson; brother, Ruielle “Pat” (Mary) Westlake of Nevada, Mo.; and longtime companion, Harold Spencer of Red Oak; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Everystep Kavanaugh Hospice House, Des Moines or the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak.
