Charles Shrum, 66

Charles Allan Shrum, 66, Red Oak, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
Charles was born Feb. 4, 1959, in Des Moines, the son of Jasper and Donna (Foes) Shrum.
Preceding him in death were his parents; stepfather, James Askey; and sons, Shane Shrum and Shaun Akers.
Survivors include his children, Shannon Handley of Stanton; Shae Shrum of Stanton; Todd Svoboda Fisher of Bellevue, Neb.; Adam Svoboda of Red Oak; Tiffany Svoboda of Elliott; and Tasha Svoboda of Elliott; six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held in the Emerson Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family.
