Betty Horgdal, 75

Betty Jane Horgdal, 75, Council Bluffs, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Villisca Good Samaritan.
Betty was born Sept. 18, 1948 in Newell, S.D., to Robert and Ella (Schmidt) Richards. She was lovingly welcomed home by six siblings. Their family eventually moved to Omaha, Neb., where Betty attended Franklin Elementary and in 1967, she graduated from Tech High.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David Richards and wife Norma, and Robert Richards and wife Lynda; sisters, Shirley Sunderman, and Dorothy Blumer and husband Dean.
Survivors include her children, Kerry Schafer of Red Oak; Shay Grebin and husband Jeff of Stanton; Lori Spencer and husband Travis of Rochester, Minn.; Haley Olerich of Stewartville, Minn.; and Joseph Horgdal and wife Amy of Mantorville, Minn.; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, sister, Judy Webster and husband Larry of Omaha, Neb.; and sister, Beverly Langabeer of Ord, Neb.; many other relatives and friends.
Her children will host a Celebration of Life for family and friends on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, from 11 to 2 at the Henderson Community Building, Henderson.
