Angela Hicks, 66

Angela Sue Hicks (Angie), a long-time resident and business owner in Ketchum/Sun Valley, Idaho, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, after a brief illness. She was 66 years old.
Angie was born in Iowa in 1958 to Harold Roy and Charlotte Maxine (Sobbing) Hicks. She spent her early childhood years in the Emerson area before moving to Greeley, Colo. in 1969. Angie lived in Greeley until 1987, and then lived in various locations before settling down in the Ketchum/Sun Valley, Idaho area in 1989. Angie worked hard to establish and build Monarch Property Management into a thriving property management business in the Sun Valley area. Angie was very artistic and loved singing, drawing, writing, photography, gardening and making ceramic pottery.
Angie was married to Steven Dana Pankey from 1978-2001, and had two sons, Mark Dana Pankey (1979) and Carl Wesley Pankey (1987).
Angie is survived by her son, Mark Pankey; her sister, Vanessa (Nick) Sakulenzki; several cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Angie was preceded in death by her son, Carl Wesley Pankey (2008); her daughter-in-law, Esther Pankey (Mark’s wife) (2019), her father, Harold Roy Hicks (1997), and her mother; Charlotte Maxine Sayers (2011).
Per Angie’s wishes, she is being cremated and a memorial will be held at a later day to spread her ashes in Red Feather Lakes, Colo. The family asks that in lieu of plants or flowers, a donation is made in Angie’s name to The Advocates Home, The Advocates, Idaho (theadvocatesorg.org) in Hailey, Idaho or a charity of your choosing.
