Sharon Kay (Abbott) Young, 80, Red Oak, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Jennie Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs.
Sharon was born Oct. 6, 1945, in Alameda, Calif., the daughter of James and Geneva (Roof) Abbott.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Joel Young of Red Oak; daughter, Heather Hall of Red Oak; step-children: Michael Young of Carson, Nev., and Jamie Butrick of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at the Faith Community Church with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.
LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
