Three Tigers earn honorable mention on All-Hawkeye 10 teams

Red Oak’s Josie Sampson, Carson Roeder and Cale Hall earned honorable mention nods on the All-Hawkeye 10 Conference softball and baseball teams released last week.
Sampson was the  lone Tiger named to the all-conference softball team while Roeder and Hall represented Red Oak on the all-conference baseball team.
Atlantic’s Lila Wiederstein, London Kirchhoff, Zoey Kirchhoff and Peyton McLaren, Clarinda’s Janessa Woolsey, Annika Price, Rylee Maher, Avery Staver and Kennedy Strider, Harlan’s Tayor Heese, Kuemper Catholic’s Charlotte Schwabe, Council Bluffs Lewis Central’s Aubree Davis, Madison Johnette and Camryn King, Council Bluffs St. Albert’s Ella Narmi and Glenwood’s Audrey Albers comprised the all-conference softball first team.
Weiderstein, Woolsey and Davis were unanimous first team selections by all league coaches.
Sampson, who was tabbed an honorable mention selection, split her time between third base and catcher this season, hit .394 and drove in 14 runs this year.
The baseball first team was made up of Creston’s Thomas Mikkelsen and Tanner Ray, Denison’s Cole Kastner and Owen Galvin, Harlan’s Colton Schneider, Harrison Kjergaard, Jonas Reynolds and Foxx Argotsinger, Council Bluffs Lewis Central’s Blake Fort, Brooks Bond, Caden Nepple and Owen Duffek. Shenandoah’s Logan Twyman, Kuemper Catholic’s Landon Pottebaum, Atlantic’s Kale Jensen and Clarinda’s Ryan Wagoner, Jr., C/DH.
Mikkelsen, Kastner, Galvin, Schneider, Fort, Bond and Twyman were unanimous first team selections.
The Tigers’ Hall and Roeder both earned honorable mention nods. Hall, a senior center fielder, hit a team-best .394 with 20 stolen bases. Roeder hit .338, drove in 10 runs and smacked a home run.
