Ronald Schooling, Sr., 88

Ronald Dean Schooling, Sr., 88, Griswold, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his home.
Ronald was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Taylor County. He graduated from Corning High School and attended college for a short time. Ron was united in marriage to Judy Wyckoff on Dec. 17, 1961, in Red Oak. Through the years, they made their home in Red Oak, Wyoming, Arkansas, and Griswold. Ron worked at Thos. D. Murphy Co., Oakland Beef Packing, Union Carbide, and D & L.
He was a wonderful organist and pianist and played in many different places throughout years. He taught piano and excelled in fixing most anything. Ron served his country in the National Guard, retiring after 20 plus years of service.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Chris Schooling; brother, Garry Schooling; and daughter-in-law, Julieanna Schooling.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Schooling of Griswold; children, Ronald Schooling, Jr. and wife Roxanne of Red Oak; Mark Schooling of Griswold; Roger Eugene “Gene” Schooling of Red Oak; Kenneth Schooling of Griswold; Tracy Schooling of Illinois; Jody Schooling of Red Oak; and Lisa Carlson and husband Mark of Griswold; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Schooling of Red Oak; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel.
