Gettler’s big night lifts Vikings to win

Evan Gettler hit a school-record 10 three-pointers and scored 30 points to lead Stanton to a 73-22 victory over Essex in Corner Conference boys basketball Friday.
Gettler was 10-of-19 from behind the arc while dishing out six assists and grabbing nine steals.
Andrew Johnson added 11 points and Brodee Sowers 10 points and nine rebounds.
For the game, the Vikings shot 39.2 percent from the field – 29-of-74 – but connected on 14-of-38 from three.

Bedford 73,
Stanton 41
Bedford built a 40-22 halftime team into a 73-41 win over Stanton in Corner Conference basketball last Tuesday.
Cal Peterman poured in 27 points to lead Stanton. Garrison Motsinger added 15 points and Brody King 13.
Evan Gettler led the Vikings with 17 points. Andrew Johnson added nine points.
Sidney 76,
Essex 33
Sidney jumped out to a 19-7 lead after a quarter and cruised to a 76-33 victory over Essex in Corner Conference boys basketball last Tuesday.
Grant Whitehead paced Sidney with 18 points and Michael Hensley added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Isaiah Sholes led Essex with 17 points.

Essex 29
Wes Vana scored 21 points and Ashton Peszulik 18 to lead Essex to an 87-29 win over Essex in the season-opener for both teams last Monday.
The Panthers blew open a 39-25 halftime game with a 25-4 third quarter run.
Jason Kastner added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Trojans.
Isaiah Sholes paced Essex with 10 points.
