ACCIDENTS
• On Aug. 8, at about 3:40 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident in the 500 block of N. 5th Street. Yvonne Willms, 66, Red Oak, driving a 2012 Dodge Journey, was parked on 5th Street. Genevra Knapp, 67, Red Oak, driving a 2012 Ford Focus, was travelling east on Coolbaugh Street and made a left turn onto 5th Street when the Willms vehicle pulled out into the roadway, striking the Knapp vehicle. Damage to the Willms vehicle was about $800, while damage to the Knapp vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Willms received a warning for failure to yield upon entering through highway.
• On Aug. 11, at about 3:43 p.m., Red Oak Police officers were investigated an accident at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital parking lot. A 2009 Victory Kingpin motorcycle was backed into, and a note was left containing the other driver’s information. The officers called the second driver, Mattew McLaren, 40, Farragut, who was driving a 2014 Ford Expediton, and he returned to the scene to exchange information with the motorcycle owner. Damage to the motorcycle was about $1,500, while the McLaren vehicle had no damage. No citations were issued.
