Edith Marie Woods, 92

Edith “Marie” Woods, 92, of Holt, Mo., passed away Oct. 1, 2011, at her daughter's home in Holt after a brief illness. Her family was by her side.

Marie was born to Raymond and Ruth (Trude) Braden April 10, 1919, in Montgomery County.

She married Maurice “Mike” Woods Oct. 30, 1937, in Red Oak, where they lived until moving to Arizona in 1989. In 1997 they moved to Longmont, Colo., to be closer to family.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike, in 2004; a daughter, Barbara Myers; a grandson, Adam Woods; and two son-in-laws, Ken Myers and Ron Ireland.

Survivors include her three sons, Fred Woods, of Council Bluffs, Max (Donna) Woods, of Lockport, Ill., and Chuck (Alice) Woods, of Longmont; two daughters, Delores (Kenneth) Peck, of Holt, and Vicki Ireland, of Longmont; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Braden, of Red Oak; a sister, Nettie Artlip, of Elliott; a sister-in-law, Jo Marcusson, of Red Oak; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Services took place in Liberty, Mo., Oct. 4, and graveside services in Berthoud, Colo. were Oct. 6, at Greenlawn Cemetery.
