Montgomery County Roadside Department receiving grants

This spring the Montgomery County Roadside Department applied for five separate LRTF grants with subject matter including; native grass and forbs seed, materials for building maintenance and improvements, safety and burn equipment including a 100 gallon sprayer and UTV, also included was a reimbursement for a new chipper.

This week the Roadside Department learned that all five grants have been approved totaling in $31,339.21.

Damien Bond, Roadside Manager for Montgomery County said, “These grants are an environmental and financial benefit to Montgomery County, and it’s citizens. They will be used to promote a healthier roadside, and make our secondary roads safer by giving us the tools to remove large trees and brush hazards.”
