Della (Dutch) L. Coy, 87, died July 8, 2009, at Montgomery County Hospital.
Della (Dutch) Lodemia Coy was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Nodaway, to Homer Hollis Wainwright and Mary Ruth (Strain) Wainwright.
Della married Dale Franklin McKinley on Dec. 10, 1938. They had three children, Carolyn, Merl and Coral. They lived in Villisca the majority of their married life. Dale died Sept. 17, 1973.
Della married Charlie Coy on Aug. 29, 1979. They lived together in Villisca until his death in Feb. 1993. Della held many jobs through the years. Union Carbide in Red Oak, Nodaway Valley National Bank and the Villisca Locker in Villisca, were a few.
She belonged to the ladies auxiliary in the Villisca Legion and the Red Oak Eagles Club.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husbands Dale McKinley and Charlie Coy; brothers Charles (Tuck), Isaac, Alfred, Jimmy, and sisters, Marie, Kate and Lois.
Della is survived by her children, Carolyn (Duane) Darnold of Atlantic, Merl (Joyce) McKinley of Albuquerque, N.M. and Coral Guffey of Villisca; nine grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Albert (Mary Ellen) Wainwright, Harold Wainwright, Bill (Eileen) Wainwright; sisters, Annie (Mac) McClelland and Alice Ruby, all on the west coast.
Funeral services were held July 13 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca, with Pastor Kevin Skipworth officiating. Interment was at Villisca Cemetery, Villisca.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
