No revenge for Red Oak girls, loss to Clarinda ends season

CLARINDA – After winning their first four games of the season, proceded by losing the next 17, the Tigers were hoping to win their second playoff game facing a Clarinda team.
The Tigers’ result was not the same, as they bounced the Clarinda Academy Eagles last week, 94-30. The Cardinals came out firing on their way to a 44-26 win in the district quarterfinals.
Red Oak started a little timid in the first quarter, as they failed to score the first six minute of the game. By that time, Clarinda had already jumped out to a 9-0 lead, which they would never relenquish.
The Tigers trailed 11-3 at the end of the first quarter, with Ingvild Skorpen hitting a three-point shot with about two minutes left in the opening quarter.

Skorpen scored the first nine Red Oak points before McKaela Magneson hit two free throws at the end of the first half with the Tigers trailing 20-11.
