Youth and Community Partners honored at Annual 4-H Awards Night

4-H members, their families, and community members gathered on Sunday, Nov. 14,  for the annual Montgomery County 4-H Awards Night. This program is hosted by the 4-H County Youth Council, a group of 4-H members from across the county ranging in age from high school freshmen to seniors. 

The Friends of 4-H award was given to Derek and Kelli Bucy. Kyle Kirchhoff of Kirchhoff Welding and Fabrication received the Honorary Award. The 2021 Outstanding 4-H Alumni was given to Krista Huntsman and Tim and Kate Fridolph were awarded the 2021 Outstanding Leader awards. 

Volunteers are presented tenure awards for every five years of service. Awards were presented from the last two years due to not being able to award them in person.  

Those honored were: Silver Clover Pin for 5 years of service: Tanner Allensworth, Tim Fridolph, Shelley Bergren, Lathan Gray, Michelle Jordan, Chris Nippert, and Stephanie Vinton-Pollock

Gold Clover Pin for 10 years of service: Ryan Beeson, Marti Clark-Moffett, and Alan Spencer

Pearl Clover Pin for 15 years of service: Curtis Woods Diamond Clover Pin for 20 years of service: Jenny Ellis and Earl Sunderman. 

Emerald Clover Pin for 25 years of service: Darrin Fisher

Sapphire Clover Pin for 35 years of service: Jane Waltz

5-Point Diamond Clover Pin for 40 years of service: Bill Drey and Carol Sparr

In addition to adult and community awards, youth members received awards for submitting their yearly record books and submitting their officer books.  Members receiving an award for their record books were: 

Outstanding Juniors: Lilly Focht, William Pollock

Outstanding Intermediates: Grace Nippert (Goat) Alyssa Strebe (Photography)

Outstanding Seniors: Rose Nippert and Tristan Frank

Senior Record Books: Alexis Frank (Visual Arts), Tristan Frank, Lainey DeVries (Beef), Madison Doyle (Horse), Abigail Johnson, Joshua LeRette (Food & Nutrition), Josie McCunn (Poultry), Rose Nippert, Cord Nippert (Rabbit), Johnathan Perkins (Photography)

Four senior 4-H members received additional awards based upon their 4-H participation and project involvement.  To be eligible for a senior award, members must turn in a record book. Service, Lainey DeVries; Livestock Achievement, Cord Nippert; Achievement, Tristan Frank; and Hall of Fame, Rose Nippert.
