Van Nostrand excited serving the community as Red Oak UMC pastor

Rev. Jennifer Van Nostrand is settling in as the new pastor of the First United Methodist Church at 600 E. Hammond St.
Van Nostrand has been the pastor of the Villisca church since July of 2021, and took over as part-time pastor of Red Oak in November 2022. Van Nostrand was born in eastern Colorado, and moved with her husband, John, to Clarinda 10 years ago.  
Van Nostrand said she is excited about the potential for growth in the Red Oak church, as the congregation is very active and extremely hands-on, with a visitation team, doing the children’s sermon, leading Bible studies, and reading scripture.
She added she’s is excited to guide them into doing important ministry in Red Oak and serving the community.
Worship services in Red Oak are at 9 a.m. on Sundays. Services are also streamed on Facebook Live, again at 9 a.m., at facebook.com/redoakfumc. Current and past services are also uploaded to redoakfumc.org/.
