Smoke testing March 30 & 31 in Red Oak

On March 30 & 31, the City of Red Oak will be smoke testing the sewer system west of Broadway on 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenues, as well as Valley and Prospect between 1st Street and 8th Street.
Please make sure your drain traps and floor drains are full of liquid. Broken toilet seals, dry drain traps, or incorrect plumbing may let the testing smoke into your homes. The smoke is not associated with fire and it does not smell like smoke. The smoke test will find broken pipes and cracks in the city’s sewer system.
