Red Oak teacher placed on leave following tirade

A Red Oak food and nutrition teacher was placed on administrative leave Thursday, Sept. 22, following a classroom tirade captured on a cell phone.
A letter was released to district families from Red Oak Superintendent Ron Lorenz that explained Mrs. Rebecca Stanbrough had “lost her composure and made inappropriate comments to students in class.”
Lorenz continued to say he cannot comment on confidential personnel matters, but that the teacher has been placed on administrative leave while the district looks into the matter “in accordance with applicable laws and board policy.”
The tirade was captured on a student’s cellphone and released via TikTok.
