Quilt of Valor for Adams

U.S. Army veteran Ron Adams was presented a Quilt of Valor at a special ceremony Sept. 11 by the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Adams was drafted into the Army in 1969 and reached the rank of SP4 before his discharge in 1971, serving in the Vietnam era. Among Adams’ duties were field artillery crewman, eight inch and 175 mm tracked howitzers, and Adams served at several firebases in Vietnam. During his military career, Adams was awarded the National Defense Service medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal, the Vietnam Service medal, the Overseas Service bar, an Expert Rifle badge-M-16. The quilt was machine pieced by Denise Bryant of Shenandoah and machine quilted by Carol York of Essex.
