Johnston Communications named Dish Cares Ambassador of the Year 2021

Johnston Communications was recently named the Dish Cares Ambassador of the Year 2021 for Dish Network nationwide.
Dish realizes that Local Retailers, like Johnston Communications, want to be active in the communities where they live and work. Therefore, local retailers are recognized for their involvement throughout the year. The selection is also based on the number of community support events or programs completed, number of DISH Cares corporate events participated in, number of volunteer hours completed/dollars raised for initiatives, percent of staff participation in volunteer events, number of people served or impacted provided by the nonprofit, and a short description on creative approach to serving their community and be nominated by corporate employee.
“Some of our events we participated in include: delivering Meals on Wheels two times a week, we sponsored and served meals for churches, and raised funds for local charities. We fundraise for the local K-9 unit, school clubs and school events; we support Pheasants Forever, local 4-H clubs, food drives, participate in the Christmas toy drive and Adopt-A-Family during the holidays, and are an Adams County Speedway sponsor,” said Johnston Communications Accounting Executive, Amanda Johnston. “It is an incredible award and honor. This once again shows it is not the size of the town you live in, but the size of your heart that pushes you forward. Giving back always makes the heart happy.”
