IDOT plans to resurface and reconstruct 34 through Red Oak
Officials with the Iowa Department of Transportation have plans to resurface and reconstruct Highway 34 from the East Nishnabotna River Bridge to Montgomery County Road H-34 near Red Oak.
The project includes widening and reconstruction to the Eastern Avenue intersection in Red Oak. The intersection of Highway 34 and Iowa 48 will be reconstructed to accommodate new traffic signals. New culverts will be installed under U.S. 34 to improve drainage. Construction on the project is anticipated to begin in 2024.
Public opinions are wanted about the project. A self-guided tour of the proposed project and a place to submit comments and questions can be viewed/made at news.iowadot.gov/pim/2021/11/us-34-in-montgomery-county.html.
