Glenwood attorney to serve as district associate judge

A Glenwood attorney is set to join the Fourth Judicial District as a judge.
On Feb. 17, the district judges of the Iowa Fourth Judicial District selected Justin Rusk Wyatt with Woods, Wyatt & Tucker PLLC of Glenwood to serve as district associate judge.
Wyatt will replace judge Jennifer B. Bahr who was appointed to serve as district judge by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds on Jan. 14.
The Fourth Judicial District Magistrate Nominating Commissions met on Feb. 10 to interview applicants for this position. The commissions also nominated Sara Benson, Council Bluffs, and Donna Bothwell, Logan, for consideration by the District Judges of the Fourth District.
Wyatt graduated from Villisca High School in May, 1994, received his undergraduate degree from Creighton University in May, 1998, and his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University School of Law in May, 2003.
Wyatt has been in private practice in southwest Iowa since September, 2003. From 2003 to 2011, Wyatt was an associate attorney at Peters Law Firm, P.C. Since 2011, he has been a founding partner at Woods, Wyatt, & Tucker, PLLC.
Wyatt will be assigned to work primarily in Montgomery, Page, Cass, and Audubon counties in the Fourth District, but can be assigned to hear cases throughout the district as needed.
The Fourth Judicial District consists of nine southwest Iowa counties: Audubon, Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie and Shelby.
Wyatt will assume his duties as District Associate Judge in March.
