In action Aug. 1, superintendent Ron Lorenz was requesting that the board approve an electrical bid for work to the portable classrooms, in the amount of $10,706, which was necessary to complete the set-up of the new units.
“In order to complete the installation of the portable classroom unit, we have to provide power. In order for that to happen, a trench has to be dug, and electrical lines must be run from an existing pole, which is located approximately 280 feet to the east of the unit,” explained Lorenz.
Lorenz said they sought bids from five electrical contractors, and only Haley’s Electric was able to take on the work. Lorenz issued a recommendation to accept Haley’s bid.
