Donation for Christ’s Cupboard

Christ’s Cupboard Food Pantry recently received a new donation. The ISU Extension & Outreach office offers a 6-week class called My Wellbeing. This class covers three areas of wellbeing: social/emotional, financial, and physical. This class is designed for adults with disabilities to help them discover the importance of wellbeing, understand how it impacts then, and guides them in setting wellbeing goals for themselves. During the social/emotional wellbeing class, as they talk about care for themselves and caring for others, they do a service project that has a local impact. This class opted to pack bags of food items for Christ’s Cupboard. Some items were donated by Nishna Productions and Fareway. The majority of items were purchased by the Iowa State Extension office. Thirty bags were delivered to Christ’s Cupboard. Each bag contained macaroni and cheese, instant potatoes, tuna, a box of stuffing, a gravy packet, and cans of fruits, vegetables and beans.
