Dash for Cash scheduled for Jan. 19 at school

The Red Oak Rotary Club will be teaming up once again this year with KCSI/KOAK Country Sunshine Radio for an amazing, fun-filled event that everyone will enjoy.
The event is slated during the half times of the Red Oak girls and boys double header basketball games at the Red Oak Junior/Senior High School “Orange” Gymnasium on Friday, Jan. 19, when the Red Oak Tiger basketball teams play the Glenwood High School Rams.
Game time for the girls’ game is at 6 p.m., and the boys will follow the girl’s game approximately at 7:30 p.m.
The event is called Dash for Cash. This is a free event open to anyone who attends the games that evening. The admission price or a Red Oak School activity pass is required for the games.
The Red Oak Rotary Club will be present throughout the evening to share with the public the wonderful community and area events that they provide to residents of all ages and have a display in the school hallway before entering the gymnasium.
Contestant tickets will be handed out to those interested by the Red Oak Rotary Club prior to the girls game. A winner will be drawn during girls halftime until the end of the second quarter of the boys game, with a winner drawn during boy’s halftime. There will be two lucky contestants: one for the girl’s game at halftime and one for the boy’s game at halftime.
Each lucky contestant will be blind-folded, start at the half court line, and have 30 seconds to go from the half court line by walking, crawling, and listening to the fans at the game to help them locate the $100 on the basketball court.
The contestant must pick up the $100 bill in their hand before the 30 seconds has expired.  Once again this year, KCSI/KOAK Radio is sponsoring the $100 for each contest.
KSCI/KOAK Radio and the Red Oak Rotary Club will have contestant give away bags full of KCSI/KOAK and Red Oak Rotary Club special gifts for the two lucky contestants that are drawn out of the entry box no matter if they find the $100 on the court.
