Nadine Johnson, 90

Nadine E. Johnson, 90, Stanton, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Stanton Care Center, Stanton.

Nadine Eloise Johnson, the daughter of Frank and Vina (Lundberg) Sederburg was born May 20, 1923, in Page County. Nadine was raised in Page County and graduated from Essex High School in l941.

She was united in marriage to Carrol Oscar Virger Johnson Nov. 26, 1942, at the Chapel of Transfiguration in Jackson Hole, Wyo. For two weeks, they honeymooned on a dude ranch in Wyoming. They returned to Stanton, and farmed several places before settling on the home place in l960. Nadine and Carrol felt blessed to raise their three children, Kit, Bonnie and Ingrid, on their farm. Later, they enjoyed having grandchildren and great-grandchildren come visit them.

Nadine strived daily to be an example and live out, to the best of her ability, her main priorities in life. Her first priority was her faith in Jesus Christ, and then her family and home. She was gifted in growing beautiful flowers which both she and Carrol really enjoyed. She was artistic in decorating her home and making things beautiful. Nadine loved entertaining family and friends. She was an excellent cook and loved to fix delicious meals for family and farm workers alike. Nadine traveled with her husband to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and Israel. She loved to study God’s Word and read about the lives of Christian saints. Nadine was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church, and was attending Grace Baptist Church. Her door was always open, the coffee pot on, as friends dropped by to visit. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carrol Feb. 22, 1991; an infant daughter, Teresa; brother, Ray Sederburg; and sisters, Fern Sederburg, Violet Anderson, Marjorie Schenck and Lorene Swanson.

Nadine is survived by her three children, Kit (Carolyn) Johnson of Stanton, Bonnie (Clifford) Pershin of Stanton and Ingrid (John) Buster of Morning Sun; 10 grandchildren, Keegan and Cody Johnson, Darrell (Genny) Pershin, Darcie (Bill) Shirbroun, Ward (Teresa) Buster, Inga (Dave) Lelms, Karl Buster, Will (Andrea) Buster, Ivy (Mike) Steiner and Clay (Jessica) Buster; 35 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn.
