Montgomery County primary results: Amos wins contested race

The final votes have been tallied in Montgomery County’s Primary Election Tuesday. The only local contested race in the county was for District 3 supervisor, with incumbent Bryant Amos facing challenger Mike McCunn. Unofficial results show Amos defeated McCunn by a vote of 145 to 105 to snag the nomination for the November ballot.

After the win, Amos thanked the voters who supported him in the primary.

“I’m very pleased, and I’m thankful to the people who backed me not only this year, but three times prior. I thank them for their continued support and their help. I ask them for a lot of advice sometimes,” Amos said.

Amos added that he thought his experience with the supervisors was the deciding factor in the primary over challenger Mike McCunn.

“He had a lot of questions, but not a plan. You can’t simply question what’s going on. Everyone has problems but you have to have a plan to fix it. I think we have that plan in place, and we’re moving ahead with it now,” commented Amos.

Another supervisor up for re-election was Donna Robinson, who ran unopposed for the District 5 supervisor seat. Robinson received a total of 102 votes in Tuesday night’s primary.
