Montgomery County election results

The unofficial election results are in for citywide elections across Montgomery County. Incumbent Bill Billings, running unopposed for Red Oak Mayor, received 174 total votes. Also running unopposed for Red Oak City Council Ward 2 was Bill Haufle, who received 69 votes. Newcomer Tony Wernicke, running unopposed for Red Oak City Council At-Large received 147 votes. In Elliott, write-in candidate Mike Carson was the winner in the Elliott Mayor's Race. For Elliott City Council, there were three write-in candidates running for the three seats. Jacquie Howell received 12 votes, Loren Taylor received 11 votes, and Candy Tischer had five votes.In the contested race for Stanton City Council, four candidates were running for three seats. Eric Paulson was the top votegetter with 58, votes, followed by Sheryl Porter with 49 votes, and Jessica Sundberg with 41 votes. in fourth place was Daniel Allen, with 29 votes. In Coburg, there two candidates in the mayor's race. Write-in candidate William Hardy was the winner with 10 votes to Cal Myers five votes. There were two write-in candidates for Coburg City Council. Amy Eggleston received seven votes and Tammy Redd received 4 votes. In Grant, write in candidate Lyn Silger won the mayor's race with 25 votes. For Grant City Council, there were five candidates. Michael Bradley Amos received 30 votes, Steve Williams received 28 votes, Nancy Taylor got 27 votes, Jeffrey Brown, 22 votes, and Zelda Swartz, 21 votes.Marilyn Halda received 79 votes in the Villisca mayor's race. There were two write-in candidates for Villisca City Council. Curtis Gaunt with 35 votes and Duane Casey with 28 votes. Helen Lowe earned 70 votes for Villisca City Council to fill vacancy. Villisca Public Measure A was also approved by voters. The measure states: "Shall the Villisca Public Library Board of Trustees members be changed to four resident emembers and one non-resident member appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council, to serve a term of three years effective July 1, 2018?" There were 70 yes votes for the measure, and 11 voted no.
