Mary M. Webering, 88

Mary M. Webering, 88, of Red Oak,  passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.

Mary Margaret Webering was born to Albert and Anna (Konert) Dieter July 21, 1922, in Nebraska City, Neb.

Mary graduated from St. Bernard’s Academy, Nebraska City, in 1939, and took one year of business school in Indiana. Later, she moved to Omaha, where she met Arnold Webering. They were married June 19, 1945. They lived in Nebraska City for several years before moving to Red Oak in 1952, where they owned and operated the Finest Cleaners. Arnold passed away in 1971, and  Mary became a full time homemaker raising three children.  

Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, reading, cleaning,  and doing laundry; but she enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. Mary always kept current with the news and all the world events.

Survivors include her three children,  Jim (Susie) Webering of Glenwood, Mary Perkins of Red Oak, and Angela (Jim) Lukavsky of Nixa, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, Shannon Perkins of Red Oak, Virginia (Todd) Gue of Council Bluffs, Jason Holland of Bellevue, Neb., Jared Holland of Omaha, David (Meghan) Lukavsky of Omaha, Thomas Webering of Iowa City, Christine Webering of Iowa City,   Paul Webering of Chicago, Mary (Josh) Watson of Galena, Mo., Christopher (Trista) Lukavsky of Nixa,  Michelle Lukavsky of Nixa, and Anna Lukavsky of Nixa; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Jude, and Lawrence; sister-in-law,  Dorothy Webering of Nebraska City; and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City, Saturday, April 9.  Burial was in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Nebraska City. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
