Marilyn Ranney, 79

Marilyn J. Ranney, 79, of Walnut, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.  

Marilyn Jean Ranney was born to Lloyd and Lillian “Mae” Andrews June 16, 1932, in Red Oak.  Preceding her in death are her parents and siblings,  Duane, Wilbur and Gordon Andrews, and Elaine Heuer.  

Survivors include her husband, Eldon Ranney, of Walnut; daughters, Susan McKay, of Maple Grove, Minn., Cynthia Groeneweg, of St. Francis, Minn., and Cheryl Ranney, of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service took place Monday, April 2, at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Caryn Pedersen officiating. Burial of the cremated remains was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak. Visitation was Sunday, April 1, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak.
