Local communities host Easter egg hunts

 As Christians worldwide celebrate Holy Week, local communities are preparing for their annual Easter Egg Hunts. 

Red Oak’s Rotary Club will host its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday at 10 a.m. at Fountain Square Park. The park will be sectioned off into four age groups for children between 1-10 years. 

First Baptist Church will also host an Easter egg hunt Sunday at 10 a.m. at the church. 

Deb’s Lakeview Restaurant will host an Easter egg hunt Saturday starting at 11 a.m. The hunt takes place outside the restaurant located in Viking Lake State Park. 

Villisca’s Easter egg hunt also starts at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Villisca City Park. It is sponsored by the Villisca Community Betterment Association. 

Emerson’s Easter egg hunt is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Saturday in Evans Park for children from pre-school through the fourth grade. The event is sponsored by the Henderson Hornets/Ambitious Andies 4-H Club, Houghton State Bank and the Emerson Community Club.
