Live Well Montgomery County Healthiest State Walk

Live Well Montgomery County is calling upon all residents of Montgomery County to join hundreds of thousands of Iowans to support the Healthiest State Initiative on October 6th. The Walk on October 6th brings communities together by having an organized Healthiest State Walk, presented by Delta Dental of Iowa, in all of Iowa’s 99 counties.

This year’s “Walk of Life” aims to help get people together to walk for 30 minutes. Just thirty minutes of physical activity each day improves physical, social, and emotional health. Live Well Montgomery County is excited to partake in the Healthiest State Walk as it represents a commitment to our residents’ wellbeing. We look forward to not only walking together on October 6th, but also initiating a cultural shift towards more activity.

We hope you’ll join the “Walk of Life” on October 6th. Walk in your neighborhood, at the Montgomery County Family YMCA, at The Viking Center, on the Red Oak Trail, on the Stanton Green Belt Trail, on the Villisca Walking Trail, at your workplace or anyplace that you feel comfortable. We encourage you to go for a 30-minute stroll sometime during the day to support the goal to make Iowa a healthier state.

One can register for the walk online at http://www.iowahealthieststate.com/events/walk-details/4769/.

Participants that walk for at least 30 minutes and complete their walk by 7:30 pm will receive 2 guest passes to the Montgomery County Family YMCA. Please register in person or by telephone at the front desk of the YMCA to be eligible for the guest passes.
