Letter to the Editor: Road width safety is a concern
To the Editor:
I had a chance to attend a Montgomery County Supervisors meeting recently where road widths and how the secondary/gravel roads should be maintained were debated. There was a lengthy discussion on the subject. I know all involved want safety for people using the roads today and into the future. The concern that I have is with the road widths. I am a farmer and I drive these roads a lot of the time. I drive equipment that is growing in size and width. When meeting other vehicles, on the roads that are not wide enough, it is a concern for my safety and theirs. At times I feel unsafe driving a pickup and meeting another pickup or car after a rain, and the side of the road is soft. I ask that safety be our top priority.
