Letter to the Editor: Grassley in violation of Constitution

To the Editor:

Each time we elected Charles Grassley to the U.S. Senate, he took an oath to uphold the Constitution. The Constitution clearly states that the Senate must provide consent for all Supreme Court justice appointments. Senator Grassley has violated his oath of office by refusing to hold hearings on the president’s Supreme Court nomination. Why would we want to reward this man with our vote when he refuses to uphold the Constitution? How can he say he listens to all Iowans when he refuses to do the most important part of his job? He was elected to represent all Iowans to do the best for our country. Instead, he is just providing one more example of what is wrong with the current establishment!

There are four other candidates on the ballot this year for the U.S. Senate seat. I hope you will give each one your consideration. But regardless of whom you vote for, please make your voice heard and vote! You can only waste your vote by not voting!
