To The Editor:
On a recent blustery winter day a little birdie perched upon a White House window ledge. He peered inside and saw the President lying on a couch talking to his psychiatrist:
“Mr. President, you’ve appeared to be a little crabby lately. Can you tell me what’s been going on in your life?”
“We’ve had an uninvited guest … Big Bad Michael Wolff. Every day he sneaks into the House … He follows people. Everywhere I look … he’s there … peeking around the corner … scribbling on his pad … drives me crazy! I tried shoving him out the door … but he hung on. Now he wants to sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom!”
“Mr. President, the wall seems to be causing you a lot of stress. Are you still planning to build the wall?”
“ You betcha … If China has a wall … then I want a wall! It’s very simple … we can’t let China get ahead of us. Make America Great Again!”
“Mr. President, you said you’re still hurting. Do you have an owie?”
“Rex hurt my feelings. He called me a moron. Just for that … I won’t let him play with my Big Button anymore … so there!”
“Mr. President, many people in this country believe we are being controlled by oligarchs and plutocrats. How do you feel about that?”
“Fake News…My Trump Tower neighbors are great people … great people. Now I have to start packing for Davos.”
The little birdie began frantically flapping his wings and tweeting “Read the book! Read the book! Read “Devil’s Bargain”!
