To the Editor:

We who volunteered at the First Baptist Church food pantry want you to know how much your support and donations have meant to us and helped us in the past seven years.

We were proud to say that our food pantry was a community food pantry that served all of Montgomery County, and we received help from many individuals, civic groups, churches, grocery stores, factories, etc. You are the backbone of the food pantry!

We have had volunteers from several churches – Presbyterian, Hope for Life, Crossroads Community, Mormon, Methodist and many Nishna Production clients and many unchurched people. We greatly appreciated their help.

As of Tuesday, Oct. 3, we are no longer part of the First Baptist Church food pantry. This was a decision made by the church advisory board, and we were notifed of this on Tuesday while we were open. Sorry to those of you who came for food and we were already closed.
