LeRette donates funds to local food pantry

For the past five years, Joshua LeRette has spent his summers raising money and awareness for the local food pantry. This past summer has been remarkably challenging because of COVID-19. Through the use of social media, LeRette was able to raise funds by selling his Montgomery County Fair blue-ribbon caramel apple pie to 72 households across Iowa and Nebraska. His pie fundraiser, combined with a drive-by root beer float stand and generous donations, raised funds totaling $3,055.06.

To date, Joshua’s effects have raised $15,638.80 for the Christ’s Community Cupboard Food Pantry, administered by the First Covenant Church of Red Oak. LeRette plans to continue to raise funds for the food pantry and raise awareness for the need to help others. He is a freshman at Red Oak High School and the son of Brian and Dawn LeRette of Red Oak.
