Kum ‘N Go robbed again by employees
For the second time in a little over two years, employees at a Red Oak convenience store have been arrested for stealing from their employer.
Debra Ann Lamb, 59, and Katherina Ann Gurney, 42, were arrested Tuesday on third and fourth degree theft charges, respectively, following an investigation into alleged thefts at Kum ‘N Go, located at 710 N. Broadway in Red Oak.
At the request of store officials, Red Oak police investigated the two employees and determined over the course of three months, they had stolen cash and merchandise from the convenience store.
According to court records, Lamb took $500 in cash and merchandise while Gurney took about $300 in property from the store.
Gurney allegedlly admitted to the crime when questioned by police.
Both women posted bonds of $2,000 and $1,000 respectively, and were released pending their preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for April 15.
In September 2012, another Kum ‘N Go employee, Alicia Marie Terry was arrested for stealing $3,500 in cash. She pleaded guilty to the theft along with a friend, Michael Parson. They both were placed on probation and paid a fine.
