Kloewer named MCMH CEO

Over the past year, members of the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital (MCMH) Board of Trustees have been developing a succession plan in preparation of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), David Abercrombie’s 2021 retirement.

Effective March 15, Ron Kloewer has been appointed to succeed David Abercrombie as CEO.

Kloewer first worked with the organization as the hospital’s project manager for the construction of the current facility, which was completed in 1989. After completion of the project, he joined the MCMH team as Chief Information Officer and Director of Campus Development, and more recently as Chief Operating Officer.

Kloewer has earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Iowa Western Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Management of Information Systems and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree, both from Bellevue University.

He and his family reside on an acreage in the Pilot Grove Township of Montgomery County. His hobbies include music, woodcraft, and motorcycling.

“We are very blessed to have a culture of greatness at MCMH so that we can prepare for and implement important succession plans such as this with our talented staff,” said Board of Trustees Chairman Kevin Cabbage. “Ron’s proven leadership, dedication, energy, loyalty and passion for MCMH, combined with his experience, resourcefulness, talents and skills, will serve us all extremely well with him as the next CEO at MCMH.”

Current Chief Executive Officer, David Abercrombie, has been with MCMH for more than six years and guided organizational growth with proven success and a culture of greatness. He and his wife, Cheryl, plan to return to their native South Carolina to be with family following his retirement.

“It’s good to know that I leave our hospital in the capable hands of some of the best managers I have ever worked with. And knowing that Ron Kloewer will be leading them as the new CEO is the best possible news. Ron has my confidence, without reservation,” said Abercrombie. “Our hospital will continue to do great things under his leadership.”
