Kidnapping charges dismissed against McCunn
Judge Michael Hooper dismissed the first-degree kidnapping charges against Toby McCunn Thursday, Sept. 19, following his Tuesday, Sept. 17, conviction of life in prison for first-degree murder.
The one count of kidnapping allegedly occurred April 15, with the court case created on July 3. No other information was given.
McCunn, of Red Oak, was charged with the April 22 shooting death of Josh Jordan, of Shenandoah. A Page County jury found McCunn guilty Aug. 8.
Following his Sept. 17 sentence, McCunn was transported to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Oakdale to begin his sentence. Under Iowa law, an automatic appeal was filed for the Class A Felony.
