Kenneth C. (Kenny) Konfrst, 65, of Glenwood, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, in Council Bluffs.
He was born Aug. 10, 1943 on the family farm, where he currently resided in rural Glenwood. Kenny graduated as the valedictorian with the Class of 1961 from Glenwood High School.
Kenny was known by many as “Farmer” and always enjoyed it when the nieces and nephews would come out to visit the new baby calves and play on the farm. He was a kind, caring person and devoted his life to taking care of his mother.
Along with farming, Kenny was employed at the Opinion-Tribune newspaper (a division of Southwest Iowa Publishing Co., which includes The Red Oak Express), where he worked in the mailroom.
Preceding Kenny in death were his parents, Louis and Mildred Konfrst; sister, Kathy Porter; and brother, Charles Konfrst.
He is survived by his brothers, Louis (LaVetta) Konfrst of Plattsmouth, Neb.; Donald Konfrst of Council Bluffs, Gerald (Dorothy) Konfrst of Council Bluffs, Fred (Dorothy) Konfrst of Glenwood, Frank (Diane) Konfrst of Blair, Neb., Mike (Donetta) Konfrst of Glenwood, Marvin Konfrst of Glenwood, and Melvin (Joyce) Konfrst of Glenwood; and several nieces, nephews and extended relatives.
A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 24, at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Interment followed in Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood.
Peterson Mortuary of Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
