Timberwolves win in shootout

Southwest Valley scored 15 runs over the final three innings to rally for a 19-15 victory over Central Decatur in Pride of Iowa Conference baseball Friday.
The Timberwolves (9-8 overall, 5-6 in the conference) smacked 18 hits in the win.
Gavin Wetzel  4-for-6 at the plate and drove in four runs. Walker Bissell and Brody Crozer had three hits each and Ethan Johnson and Caleb Owen had two hits each and combined to drive in five runs.
Wetzel notched the win on the hill tossing 3 2/3 innings and allowing 11 hits and five earned runs while fanning four.
Kynzer Norman took the loss for the Cardinals after allowing two hits and two earned runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Landry Johnson had four hits and drove in four runs, and John Armbrester had three hits and drove in two runs.

Martensdale St. Marys downed Southwest Valley 12-3 in Pride of Iowa Conference baseball last Wednesday.
Travis White had three hits and drove in a run, and Cooper Hamilton had three hits and drove in two for the Blue Devils.
Caleb Owen took the loss for the Timberwolves, allowing five hits and five earned runs in 5 1/3 innings.
Brody Crozier had two hits for Southwest Valley.
