Timberwolves sweep POI triangular

The Southwest Valley volleyball team swept Wayne and Martensdale St. Mary in its final Pride of Iowa Conference triangular of the year in Corning last Tuesday.
The Timberwolves notched a 25-9, 25-6 win over Wayne and knocked off St Marys 25-12, 25-18 in the sweep.
“I was very impressed with the girls on how they played tonight,” said Southwest Valley coach Lisa Sparks. “They went out strong and were aggressive and smart with the ball. We are at a good point in our season where I see them becoming stronger as a unit every day.”
Ray Helvie led the Timberwolves attack with 18 kills combined in the two matches.
Mackenzie Fast chipped in in 15 kills to go with 15 digs.
Elin Hogan paced the offense with 40 set assists.
