Tiger soccer drops pair on road

Addi Richter scored three goals to lead West Central Valley to a 10-0 win over Red Oak in girls soccer last Monday in Stuart.
The Wildcats got on the board in the game’s first minute and then added to that lead with goals in the 12th and 14th minutes to take the early 3-0 lead. That lead swelled to 9-0 at the half.
The game ended by “mercy rule” in the 49th minute.
Despite the lopsided score, Red Oak coach Dion Coffey praised his team’s effort, especially on the back end. Mariella Richards-Hernandez started in goal and had 12 saves, while Chloe Devito held down the middle with West Central Valley’s prominent attacks. Haylee Joint and Bryleigh Mauer also worked very well together as a pair.
“With some new faces on the team, we are looking for more positive outcomes and understanding of positions,” Coffey said.
Meleah Speichinger, Braylie Harding and Alexia Dullard had two goals each and Maren Hoffmann one of her own to cap West Central Valley’s scoring.

The Wildcats turned that early 1-0 lead into a 7-0 margin very quickly during the latter part of the first half.
After halftime, the Tigers battled but the Wildcats scored two more goals to take a 9-0 lead. They put 1 more in the back of the net around the 35th minute to end the game.
